Review of St Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold (2009) by Lauren H — 29 Dec 2009
Very, very silly... very, very, very.
But hilarious. I actually snorted at one point. God knows at what point, but I really enjoyed it!
I wasn't a massive fan of the first film (to be honest, I've still yet to see the last half hour or so of it) - so wasn't massively interested in a sequel. Plus there's something very disturbing about Rupert Everett dressing like that....
But this was really good fun. I laughed a lot and in spite of all the sillyness, there was quite a good story to it too. (I especially LOVED the whole Exorcist-y bit!).
Was a shame that Russell Brand decided to pull out of this, but David Tennant more than made up for his absence! Oh my, he's a genius! I can't even say he was a particularly convincing bad guy, because he wasn't, but he was excellent in his role. Colin Firth was also hilarious. I've started to warm to him in recent years.... Was lovely to see Gemma Arterton do a little cameo bit too.
It really surprised me how much I enjoyed this and from watching this, I'd gladly watching another sequel too. May also have to give the first one another watch...
