This sequel seemed to be made less seriously than the original. I'm not saying that is a bad thing - my kids seemed to enjoy this as much as the first one - but I took it less seriously, and it hindered my enjoyment.
The gadgets were cool and the beasts were awesome. There is a lot to like about this movie, just not as much as the first one. Seldom do sequels live up to one's expectations.
