Review of Spy Hard (1996) by Anssi V — 29 Oct 2011

This movie gets a lot of flack, but I found it to be funnier than its reputation woud lead to expect. It's still bad, mind you, but Leslie Nielsen is a brilliant comedian in his own way, some of the visual jokes are actually pretty funny and at least the film makers had fun while making this, that much is obvious.

The plot is stupid, but it is a parody film, so what did you expect. And the other characters... are not immediately annoying, which should say something. All in all, I think that this movie's biggest sin is that it was made too quickly, which makes it feel rushed, and that it isn't a Naked Gun movie, which seems to piss people off.

So if you like parody films or Leslie Nielsen in general, you should give this one a watch. If not, it's just a bad, harmless comedy.
