Review of Spy Game (2001) by Tomasan — 26 Aug 2009
Mkay, as a fan of Redford, Pitt AND Tony Scott I was all for this movie...but then I went ahead and watched it and was totally let down. The plot is actually really good. The directing, the scripting, and even the acting were very thin and lame.
I am amazed that the directing sucked! usually Scott does some pretty good visual scenes, but this was just poor =( Redford is pretty much just an old lame-ass. The movie has no action in the least and is basically just a bunch of long, espionage talking between a bunch of old guys.
Brad Pitt brought what he could to his character, but even Brad's marvelous ability to character act did not save this movie. It just lacked in all of the areas that I enjoy the most. The comedy that was attempted just ended up failing miserably and was just off beat.
The movie was not cool or casual in any way. a real let down to say the least. The sad thing is that I usually always love movies like this too!?! 2 starz.
