Review of Spy Game (2001) by Nilufer R — 25 May 2009
I can see why some people may not like this film. They were expecting the usual action and mission oriented espionage film like the Bourne movies but instead got an intelligent drama about espionage, spies, and relationships.
Redford and Pitt have good acting chemistry, and the plot unfolds character development in flashbacks so its not a straight forward story. Thrown in is some action elements to keep the viewer entertained but they are not the main thing to be focused on.
I felt that it was a very well done story. Good acting, different way to tell the story with the flashbacks, and a new sub-genre with the spy drama.
