Against my better judgement, I gave it a go after seeing how highly it rated on RT. I love Melissa McCarthy, and I'd want to build a movie around her too, but this was broad and tedious. Even McCarthy couldn't save it from itself. With no one to bounce off except a few wooden comedy lightweights, she never stood a chance.
This might just be me 'getting old', but if Spy passes for a 93% comedy then pass me the vial containing the throat-dissolving liquid. Fuck me.
