Review of Spy (2015) by Olivier B — 15 Jan 2016
Very pleasantly surprised. How wonderful to see a mainstream film in which women are the protagonists, antagonists, sidekicks, incidental characters; and look different to one another, and talk to each other like human beings (OK slightly exaggerated human beings), and this is just NORMAL.
On top of this it is frequently funny, frequently charming, frequently exciting, and contains Jason Statham. I would say it goes on a bit at the end, but I always say that. Delighted that it was such a hit and hope that others can follow in its path.
