Review of Spy (2015) by Optinuzprime — 04 Jun 2015
Spy is an incredibly funny film, that continues to surprise it’s audiences. The cast of characters does not disappoint, except for maybe Jude Law. The rest of the cast makes up for it by delivering stellar performances.
Statham had a seamless transition into a comedic role. Smaller cast members; Miranda Hart, Peter Serafinowicz, and Allison Janney all contributed greatly to the movie. Melissa McCarthy has played many roles similar to this one, so if you want to see a different character from her, you will have to wait for her next film.
McCarthy still delivers when she turns into filthy-mouthed intelligent badass after she has to become a spy for the CIA, because the entire group of spies have been discovered by the extremely ignorant villain, played by the beautiful Rose Byrne.
McCarthy has to save the world from a nuclear bomb, and along the way she keeps you laughing and wondering what might come out of her mouth next, and of course if she will succeed in finding the bomb.
