Review of Spy (2015) by Acacia — 12 Jun 2015
If you need a good laugh - in fact, lots of laughs, go see Melissa McCarthy's new movie "Spy". It is wonderfully funny! And, it has a fabulous cast. McCarthy is an underused CIA employee who has a secret bad ass side.
Her boss, Allison Janney, decides to put her into the game when the identities of the guy spies are compromised. Watching her get her gadgets and new identity are hysterical. Jude Law is suave as any James Bond and McCarthy is always in his ear bud saving his butt.
Jason Statham provides great laughs as a hyper gonzo fellow spy who just can't let himself be outdone. Especially by a girl. Rose Byrne is wicked funny as the gorgeous villainess who wears skirts so tight and heels so high, she needs assistance to walk! The laughs keep coming.
Finally, McCarthy has a movie that doesn't dumb things down for the audience.
