Review of Spy (2015) by Mtg837 — 01 Oct 2015
Great movie with characters that are consistently funny. Jason Statham plays a hilarious parody of his other roles, and McCarthy as the lead shines as a desk jockey coming out of her shell. "Spy" also avoids dumb plot-driven humor, instead favoring hilarious characters.
People who like "da dum, cha" punch-liney comedies might be let down, but who cares about those idiots? "Spy" is smarter than it lets on while still delivering belly laughs. There isn't much to not like about this movie, it's great escapist fun.
