Review of Spy (2015) by Juan Diego L — 05 Jul 2016
Spy is one of the funniest films of the year. I have always been a fan of Melissa McCarthy and she was perfect for the role of Susan Cooper, they honestly could not have gotten a better person to play that part.
Another great performance in the film was from Jason Statham which amazes me due to the fact that he has a history of action films behind him, and when I saw him in the film I was shocked because of how hilarious he was, I never thought that Statham and McCarthy would make such a great team.
Aside from McCarthy and Statham the film has a great cast which includes Rose Bryne, Jude Law, Allison Janney, Morena Baccrin, Bobby Cannavale, and it introduces us to Miranda Hart who played Nancy and she was absolutely hysterical for her supporting role in the film.
Spy isn't just a hilarious film though the film also has some action in it and also takes place in a bunch of different locations. However though Spy is a very funny film it does get a little violent but its VERY mild, and most of the violence is comedic.
Paul Feig is an excellent director and with Spy he crafts another hilarious film McCarthy and Feig make a perfect team and always manage to craft great films together. If you are a fan of the Spy genre or maybe even comedy genre I highly recommend Spy for you.
