Review of Spy (2015) by Tibor P — 26 Oct 2015
Spy was one of Melissa McCarthy's best films to date. Unlike other action/comedies this one was actually funny all the way through. Melissa was her usual hilarious self but also the great supporting cast not only stood out and were memorable, they were funny as well.
In a lot of her roles, McCarthy plays a dumb women who's laughs come from her being stupid and clumsy, in this film she is very smart and most of the jokes are witty and well thought out. The action parts were very entertaining and contained what you would expect in any normal spy movie, car chases, gun fights and hand to hand combat.
The storyline was intriguing and had some nice twists, although some of it was very predictable. This film was fun in many aspects and was very well done overall. If you want a really good action, comedy with some James Bond type stuff thrown in, you can't go wrong with Spy.
