Review of Spun (2000) by Jonathan A — 06 Jun 2008
Trippy, entertaining oddball yarn about a day in the life of a speed and meth junkie and his day-in-day-out misadventures with his friends. Those who are familiar with the subject matter will draw quick comparisons to "Requiem for a Dream" and "Trainspotting" based on the filming techniques.
What makes this film unique from the other two is that this one is more of a dark, screwball comedy which makes it all the more enjoyable when you start shaking your head at the madness and silliness these people go through, oh, and it's even a little sympathetic towards its more likable (bold understatement) characters towards the end as well.
