Review of Spring Breakers (2013) by Collin R — 10 Jan 2016
This was worth watching, but pretty out there. It's an atmospheric artsy piece populated by Disney starlets, intentionally crappy post modern rap, and James Franco. It's sort of brilliant that they crap on modern day culture's glorification of money and superficiality while drawing eyeballs to the movie by taking advantage of that superficiality.
I mean this was literally marketed as Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez in bikinis for 90 minutes. Plus James Franco. He actually does an admirable job adding layers to the ridiculous character he portrays.
