Review of Spring Breakdown (2009) by Justin B — 06 Jun 2009
** (out o four).
Here's proof that silly, risque, and downright naughty, spring break comedies are not gender specific.
Amy Poehler, Parker Posey, and Rachel Dratch (she wrote the script) are three women who graduated from college in the early 1990's. They never participated in many of the traditions that other students enjoyed, like partying during Spring Break. Now, fifteen years later, they have the opportunity to soak up the fun when Posey is assigned to follow her boss' daughter, who is now in college, making sure she doen't get into any trouble.
The three leads have fun and it's nice to see the role reversal where the women are chasing after the guys, but the film adds nothing knew and the humor remains mostly in the basement.
