Review of Spotlight (2015) by Grant H — 26 Jun 2016
Phenomenal movie. The power and quality of this movie comes from its devotion to tell the true story down to nearly every last detail, whether its running to the courthouse as it's closing to get documents for the story, or calling out to sources and getting rejected, or even the accents each character has.
The screenplay does well to show the hard work the Spotlight team did to put together the horrible story they discovered, and the performances from its cast are great, especially Ruffalo. As a journalist, this is yet another incredible film that honors the profession and makes me proud to be one.
