Review of Spotlight (2015) by Jeremiah C — 18 Jun 2017
Spotlight tells the true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.
Overall, I found Spotlight to be one the best films I've ever seen. As much as I love journalism, I found Spotlight to nail every bit of journalism. From sacrifices, commitments, disturbing facts, and uncovering the truth. Spotlight was hands down the best film of 2015. Spotlight's acting ensemble was grade A incredible. Ruffalo, Keaton, McAdams, Tucci, and Schreiber, were a powerhouse cast, that you cannot take your eyes off of. Screenwriters McCarthy and Singer, truly nail on what the Spotlight team did: find the truth. Spotlight is definite must-see, that will somewhat change the way you positively think about the catholic church's, and Vatican.
