Review of Spotlight (2015) by Avan1976 — 27 Feb 2016

Well made and well acted movie about sexual abuse in the Catholic church in Boston. It is both informative and shocking. However, as a movie, it moves along at a single pace, slowly revealing the story of how the abuse was uncovered, which is not such a big deal given this is how journalism work.

However, the one knock on this film is that it lacks dramatic climaxes and anti-climaxes and a strong sense of urgency, especially towards the end.
