Review of Spotlight (2015) by Carla W — 14 May 2016
Spotlight is a Masterpiece. Based on a true and factual story of a team of investigative journalists from The Boston Globe who exposed the Catholic Church's cover up of clergy pedophilia that shocked the city, the nation, and the world, the compelling and brilliant screenplay is sublime, yet gripping.
Combined with excellent directing, crisp editing and a stellar cast, it's no wonder that Spotlight bagged the Academy Award for Best Picture. A refreshing change from the CGI steroid charged films.
A fitting tribute to journalists around the world who take so much personal and professional risks to speak truth to institutional power. A MUST WATCH.
