Splash was sweet, interesting, lots of almost frontal nudes of Daryl Hannah, and you have to admit that mid-late twenties Tom Hanks is adorable. They just threw him in with anything and it was a hit. Tom and a dog.
Tom and a Volcano. Tom and a mermaid. Tom AS a kid...
