Review of Splash (1984) by Kevin S — 27 Sep 2012
This is a classic romantic 80s comedy about Allen who works a lot along with his brother freddie. After his girlfriend dumps him he and his brother got out for a few drinks. He gets drink gets in a taxi and says he is going to cape cod.
The taxi driver took him to the wrong side of the island and ends up hiring a guy to take him back to shore in a small boat. After the boat stops working the guy swims away and Allen gets dump in the water and another boat hits him in the head.
He ends up getting saved by this mysterious woman. She finds his wallet in the water and comes ashore looking for him naked and she gets arrested and at the police station she shows them the wallet and they call Allen and he comes and notices it was the girl that saved him and takes her home with him.
She has six days till she has to return to where she came from which Is the ocean because she is a mermaid and can't stay longer and she also can't get wet which this scientist knows she is a mermaid tries to prove he is right.
And know one knows except the scientist that she is a mermaid. This is a fun movie with an awesome cast. First you have Tom hanks who plays Allen and he was funny and gear to watch. Daryl Hannah played as Madison the mermaid and she did a great job.
John candy played Allen's brother Freddie who as always is completely hilarious. And also last but not least Eugene levy plays as the scientist that is out to prove that Madison is a mermaid. Once again another great classic movie that was spawned from the the greatest decade of all.
...the 80's.
