Review of Splash (1984) by Bruce R — 19 Jun 2014
It's another solid entry in that "80's Movie" genre. It has everything. Although it's more of a "chick flick" than anything it offers a variety of things. Comedy comes through the way of Hanks's clever dialogue, Hannah's curiosity, but mostly John Candy's hilarious presence that shows his greatness even through a supporting role.
Also it's compelling to see the repercussions of a mermaid in New York. There are several plot holes though but the movie is in my opinion good enough to overcome those shortcomings.
