It's a reimagined Christmas Carol with enough nuance to be relevant to both kids and adults alike. It's incredibly meta for AppleTV (a trillion dollar corporation) to make a musical about corporate greed.
Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds are a duo made in heaven, with both actors doing what they know best within the context of the story.
