Review of Spike Island (2012) by Ali G — 10 May 2015
Nostalgic & fun! I really enjoyed this film. Although there were spots where the Manchester accents forced me listen very hard, I was swept up by this story of teenage love, friendship and rock and roll.
Elliott Tittensor was excellent as the likable lead with a moving back story. And Emilia Clarke, of course, was gorgeous in her ingenue role. The acting was strong across the board. Loved the music too! Brought me back to my younger days.
The film is not-rated but I'd give it an R rating for abundance of F-bombs and expected references to drugs and sex.
