Review of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) by Beradws — 22 Dec 2021
Preface: I am a massive Tom holland spiderman fan. Say what you will but Homecoming and Far from home are in my top 10 of the MCU. With that said:
This film attempts too much and so too much is rushed. The pacing seems strange to me, scenes where we might expect more exploration and didnt get it. The amount of plot armor in this movie is ridiculous. It tries so hard to be a heart string puller but none of that really illicits a response from the audience. Its like they saw how people reacted to the end of End Game and thought "hells yeah lets PUMP this movie FULL of it". The jokes and gags were funny as always. But instead of it being a light hearted entertaining film, they tried to make it a serious sad film with some light hearted aspects. It almost contradicts the whole character building that took place in the previous 2 movies. I enjoyed it but I didnt love it.
Tom Holland is still a total GC though.
