Review of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) by Deltajr — 17 Dec 2021
This film has a lot of stories, some of it is jumbled and muddy, but it nails its emotional beats. Peter prioritizes his connections with girlfriend MJ (Zendaya), bestie Ned (Jacob Batalon), and Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), and his obstacles are moral as well as physical.
How should he deal with all of these bad guys without endangering people around him? And what obligation does he have to make things right? The picture shines when it allows Peter to take a break and reflect on everything, ideally with his closest friends and family by his side, and his sequences with MJ and Ned are breezy and pleasant once more.
Some of the action takes place in uninspired locations such as a barren forest or that Hollywood favorite, a motorway exit ramp. The characters, on the other hand, work, and filmmaker Jon Watts pulls it off.
