Review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) by Merrelle J — 29 Dec 2018

This film was absolutely amazing! no pun intended. I don't know how it manages to work but it does, and it does so gracefully. all of the characters felt so lifelike and believable while never feeling like too much is being thrown at the audience at once.

this film is made by and for spider-man fans and it is exactly the kind of spider-man film we need right now. this film reminded me of why I like spider-man stories and why they, and by extension superhero stories in general, work.

sometimes I forget that, but spider-verse gave me such a childlike joy that I remembered what it was that enamored me to these types of characters in the first place.
