Review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) by Kurt M — 18 Dec 2018
Into the Spider verse should not work.
It's chaotic, unusual animation style looks like a poor man's Pixar featuring everyone's favorite Web slinger.
But just as with any Pixar movie,.
What sells this is the heart and relationships it brings forth.
Miles Morales was a character I've never cared for in the Marvel Universe.
I've been a Peter Parker die-hard. Someway, somehow though, they take the story of this young high school kid, which has the ground workings of even Parker's backdrop (genius, outcast loser high school kid) and spins.
*PUN INTENDED* a web of a story featuring villains AND EVEN heroes you've never heard of before.
The animation is beyond epic here, and as a guy who grew up on the Spider-Man comics , I felt like I was watching the chaos of a comic book on screen...... then multiplied by 100. Beautiful at times, crazy for most of the time, seeing this on the big screen was a great way to experience this movie in full 3D.
Spider-Man : Into the Spider-Verse is a good movie and I'm interested to see where this animated Spider-Man world goes, as Sony clearly as a hit on their hands that caters to all audiences.
