Review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) by Ivan J — 16 Dec 2018
Best animation of the year. Such a funny film. When they would set something up as a joke for later in the film, it was obvious. Yet the jokes still landed. I loved the beautiful animation. The type of animation was a comic style which was inspired and helped by Sara Pichelli (who actually made a couple of Miles Morales comics). But also included an anime type of animation as well as that the art style for Spider-Gwen by Robbie Rodriguez and Jason Latour in the comics was in this. Of course, we have the least impressive animation which was Looney Tunes type animation. The least impressive doesn't mean that it wasn't impressive. It fit the piglet very well. I wish they did chose some more iconic villains. Kingpin looked ok, but he looked like his head was in between his nipples. It seemed like a took this straight from the comics. I wish there were more Spider-Men. Although some time too many are too much. This was incredible. Surprisingly made by the studio who produced the Emoji Movie. The problem with Sony is they don't care what they produce but how much money they make. So show Sony some love and see this cinematic masterpiece. I would age this PG for death scene (zero gore) and violence. Some slapstick comedy.
Grade: A+.
