Review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) by Jake E — 16 Dec 2018
This movie really shows you what Sony's ceiling is after the flop with the Emoji Movie. The plot is really great, although you can see some things coming if you know Marvel canon well. The inclusion of the other versions of Spider-Man (Spider-Man Noir, SP//dr, Spider-Gwen and Spider-Ham) add a lot to the movie in terms of both humor and substance, surprising really, as I went in expecting the additional characters to add nothing much to the plot.
Spider-Gwen and the alternate version of Peter Parker add quite a bit to the movie, however, Miles Morales as a character is brilliantly written, and I have to give the writers of this movie credit for making a relatable and lovable character.
Hope to see more of him in the near future, whether in a Sony film or in the MCU.
