They say they save the best for last. This is certainly the case. To be honest I wasn't really keen on an animated spider-man movie, but wow did this movie blow me away.

The animations in the movie were nothing I've seen before in cinema, blending comic -book style graphics into modern animation with masterful seemlessness. The movie threads a fine line between being realistic and being outlandish, and it works. The story does a good job of knowing when to be humorous and fun, while also not taking away from parts where it has to be serious. Come to think of it, the movie kind of resembles Homecoming, where the movie is less about saving the world, but more about spider-man himself. All the characters are also well developed towards the end, which adds to the enjoyment. Fun, emotional and thoroughly enjoyable, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is all I could've wanted in a movie to close out the year, and is definitely one of the best (if not the best) movies this year.
