Review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) by Melena W — 14 Dec 2018

I can't begin to describe how much I loved this movie. I came in the theaters with high expectations and came out with every one of them exceeded. It was the most visually stunning film I had ever seen, and the voice-acting, script, and storyline was so perfect. I'm a comic book nerd and I was extremely pleased by how loyal they kept withwith source material, and spent time to develop each of the spider-people without slowing down the pace of the story. I also liked seeing subtle references toward the Spider-Verse comics such as the Web-Warriors Jeep in the Spidey-Lair.

Though I'm a nerd and enjoyed it, this movie isn't just for nerds, and don't think it's just a soft kid movie. It is extremely dark in some parts, and can work for basically all audiences to enjoy. The dark elements weren't too dark for kids, though, so it's a great film that every kid and adult to enjoy! I can't thank the creators enough for their hard work and how much life they put into these comics. It is definitely my favorite Marvel movie so far, and I don't think it can easily be beat. I'm giving it a 5/5 star rating and I highly recommend seeing this. It is totally worth it!
