Tom Holland said he watched the other Spider-Man movies, but never really inspired them, along with his team of writers. This reboot does not even mind the character's identity, it's no longer necessary.
In Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland's character is a worthy inclusion, merging the previous other Spider-Man trilogies.
