High marks for two main reasons. Excellent CGI and subtle mocking of the PC agenda.

This is the third Spider-man and it's really extraordinary that new material is so scarce that Hollywood has to constantly cannibalise comics but that's where the world of entertainment is at the moment.

The tie in with The Avengers is alluded to all the time and Iron Man himself has a major role. So far so nothing new.

But what's a little different is while there are blatantly obvious sops towards diversity in casting, It mocks the PC agenda subtly especially the language. You have to keep your eyes and ears peeled, It is very covert and very smart. E.G.The girls are POC but so obviously not Peter's type (On height alone). They are portrayed with zero chemistry. Deliberate?

The movie goes for Tom Holland who is very short and very white. Weird choice really. It knows where it’s bread is buttered it seems. An Asian kid would have been a better choice.

Weirdly it manages to insult Thais by using larb phonetically, in a restaurant scene, when anyone who has ever eaten Thai knows its pronounced lap. Strange. And what's with the sexing up of Peter's aunt? Or another case of the Hollywood charity role for Marisa Tomei, who knows?

The Keaton as Vulture was inspired casting considering he won a Golden Globe for Birdman (A serious drama). His villain isn't a cardboard cutout of irredeemable evil. He is portrayed subtly as being no better or worse than Stark.
