Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Lwa313 . — 23 Nov 2017
This addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and second Spidey reboot) is a triumph in many ways. For many viewers, Marvel fans especially, this will be the quintessential Spider-Man film. Holland has as much talent as he does enthusiasm for the role, and his young supporting cast are just as game.
The biggest pleasure of the film is how it impeccably balances out being a thrilling crime-fighting adventure and coming-of-age Hughes-esque teen-comedy. It also has state of the art visuals, with action sequences that are so fun and upbeat, it makes all viewers feel as young as the hero they are routing for.
Keaton is another one of the film's many highlights, giving a committed performance as the most complex villain of the MCU yet. Marvel delivers their big-gun hero's "homecoming" to the their universe with much grandeur, and earns it a ranking amongst their best.
