Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Hazzagalla — 06 Jul 2017
Spider-Man: Homecoming is solid; nothing spectacular, just solid. It's a fairly safe movie, nothing we haven't seen before. Tom Holland's performance is excellent, the movie does a fine job in adding to the Marvel Universe with references everywhere, the technology that the villains craft was neat and the soundtrack was quite good too.
However, there are some issues. Some of the action scenes are really poorly filmed. The camera shakes around a ridiculous amount that sometimes you can't understand what is going on. The main villain's motivation was a bit weak, the movie did feel a bit choppy at times and only half of the jokes seemed to land.
Nothing really stood out to be honest, it was just... fine. But to be honest, that's a bit of a shame.
