Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Logan R — 02 Aug 2017
This movie is definitely a breath of fresh air and vitality into a franchise that has slowly been drowning due to the money-seeking Sony who have had a hard time giving up the cash cow that is Spider-Man.
The movie gets almost everything right, effortlessly intertwining Spidey's world to the MCU on a ground level that no previous MCU movie has done before. Unlike the previous films, you really feel as if Peter is a part of a bigger world rather than the center of it.
Though the high tech suit can be considered a problem due to its seemingly unlimited abilities, it also gives Pete a reason to talk to himself to make him much more talkative than Tobey's Spidey while also allowing him to emote (I LOVE the scene where he's practicing talking to Liz and winks).
With how they modernized the tale and showed many things that haven't been seen before, this Spidey movie truly is unlike any other and is a must see. Tom Holland makes a really relatable and fun hero as the only kid in a world of super powered adults and I can't wait to see more of him in Infinity War.
