Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Ralph A — 15 Oct 2018
Spider-Man Homecoming is one of my all time favorite movies in the MCU. After his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland was automatically my favorite Spider-Man. Of course, we will never forget Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield, but Tom definitely fits the role.
Heï¿ 1/2(TM)s the youngest to ever play Spider-Man at 22, outwaying Tobey, who portrayed him at 26, AND Andrew, who portrayed him at 25. Though only being a few years younger, he throws in a lot more jokes, for example, when he caught Buckyï¿ 1/2(TM)s fist in Captain America: Civil War.
Portraying a 15 year old Peter Parker, you have to joke around a little bit like this in order to make the character believable. Believability is a HUUUGE part of acting. You have to make the audience believe that this character could possibly be real.
But, anyway, back to the movie. This movie was really enjoyable for me, though maybe not so much for the little ones, considering there are a few not so kid friendly subjects, such as Ned referencing to porn, though it did make me laugh, and a few cuss words thrown in there for pretty much no reason other than to be there.
But the twists and such were really good, and for once I actually didnï¿ 1/2(TM)t expect the bad guy to be the love interestï¿ 1/2(TM)s Dad, though I should have. I also really liked the father-son moments with Tony Stark/Iron Man, which were pretty funny.
But, yes, this is an absolute must-see for Spidey fans like me. Canï¿ 1/2(TM)t wait for Spider-Man: Far From Home to come out!! ï¿ 1/2ï¿ 1/2ï¿ 1/2.
