Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Jamie C — 27 Dec 2017
So the Third Spider-Man reboot is here and if I'm honest I've been angry ever since they recast Andrew Garfield especially with a 20 Year old who is playing a 15 Year old Peter Parker, But after watching this movie I sort of changed my mind about him, I liked the fact that he's a very clumsy Spider-Man who struggles with web swinging by crashing into sheds, Walls and leaving a path of destruction wherever he goes as it felt more realistic, I did think they focused too much on his school days and that really didn't work for me, The effects were amazing and it has a few good action scenes but I don't get why they always make Spider-Man say stupid unfunny one liners when fighting all the time, It just felt like it was voice over most of the time, I can't comment on the 3D as I watched the 2D version, I liked Michael Keaton as The Vulture but he didn't seem like a great threat most of the time and the fact that Marvel always seem to have a villain that has somehow been screwed over by the Avengers is getting old fast, I liked the improved Spider-Man suit and most of the humour worked well, It's nice they finally added him to the MCU just a shame I don't like the casting choice but maybe when he gets older he might grow on me more.
