Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Matthew S — 21 Jul 2017

Wow. Just when I thought "Here we go again!", this movie blew my expectations out of the water. Being 34, I always considered Tobey Maguire the definitive Spider-Man. While he will always have a special place in my heart (Minus Spider-Man 3), Tom Holland is THE best Spider-Man ever put on screen.

Managing to juggle the confusing and comedic aspect of being very much a kid in a grown up world (The Avengers aren't exactly prepping for a Homecoming dance), with the deeper turmoil of self identity and acceptance, this movie delivers in every way you could imagine.

Terrific acting, amazing action, and a very thoughtfully constructed plot make this yet another gem in the MCU. Can't wait to see what's next!
