Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Charlie 7 — 27 Jun 2017
Just saw the screener tonight and IMHO this is the best Spiderman movie to date. It jumped right into it due to prior world-building in "Civil War" and it had the tone and pacing I've been waiting for in a Spiderman movie since 2000.
This one will bear repeat viewings, which isn't something I am prone to do. I have some friends who are going to nitpick some things, but all in all it keeps the tone fun, and just serious enough to not feel "fluffy".
Michael Keaton absolutely owns every scene he is in, and effectively humanizes a villain that could have gone very, very wrong in less capable hands.
