Review of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) by Pootisberd — 03 Jun 2023

This movie is peak superhero fiction, and animation in general. So much creativity in every shot, a very entertaining villain, tons of references that don't overstay their welcome, and at the center of it all, a deep and powerful story dealing with the complexities of family life and the costs that come with being spider man.

Even if you have no interest whatsoever in superheroes, this is one that you cannot miss out on. Just be prepared for an abrupt cliffhanger ending if you plan on seeing it. The theater I was in definitely didn't appreciate that very much, so I wanted to warn people ahead of time.

Good news is that the next film is only 10 months away, so the wait isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things.
