Review of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) by Jluis_001 — 02 Jun 2023
I didn't think much of the predecessor to this animated wonder and therefore I didn't carry sky-high expectations. And yet, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is about as close as you can get to seeing a comic book coming to life. Whether it's movies or series.
This is far above any Spider-Man series ever made.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse deals with multiple universes and yet its greatest achievement is having an identity that makes it its own universe. Even with the cameos and the several easter eggs from other Spider-Man movies.
This has achieved a pulsating and vibrant life and spirit that makes it probably the best movie ever made about Spider-Man to date. Maybe it's the emotion talking but honestly what I saw here far surpasses Maguire's trilogy, Garfield dilogy and Holland's trilogy. It's that good.
The animation is a portentous masterpiece. There is so much to unravel in all the styles and colors displayed on screen that I was truly enraptured. And the music. Daniel Pemberton music was outstanding.
I was amazed with the whole thing.
I won't tell you more. See it for yourselves. Believe the hype.
