Review of Spider-Man 3 (2007) by Jonathan S — 24 May 2014
I feel the complaints about too many villains and too much plot are overrated. Sandman was handled quite well and, while he should have been setup for Spiderman 4, Venom wasn't bad either. Raimi made Harry and Peter's battles much more personal, so I see why Harry never really became another Green Goblin.
He just made and used what he needed for revenge on Peter. I do think Liz Allen should have been used instead of Gwen Stacy, however. Gwen just doesn't belong when you skip straight to a romance with MJ.
The movie ultimately is about honesty, choice, and redemption. If you want to complain about plot holes, too much packed into one flick, and too many enemies look no further then The Amazing Spiderman 2! It's what happens when executives instead of writers and directors make a movie.
