Review of Spider-Man 3 (2007) by Sidi M — 30 Oct 2018
Now everybody and their grandparents KNOW that this movie is bad due to how Raimi's project received heavy interference from Sony, but I like it anyways, this movie is f*cking hilarious.
Even despite all the dumb sh*t this movie has, it still remains consistant in it's tone, and it still feels like a Spider-Man sequel, albeit a really bad one.
As much as we all love the silliness of the "Emo Peter" scenes, the first fight between Peter and Harry as the New Goblin, and how beautifully aged the Sandman's origin story was, this movie remains an iffy film due to it's sluggish pacing, but it remains a highly watchable movie.
It's pretty clear at this point that Sam Raimi had no interest in putting in Venom, as he is a rather difficult character to understand, but because Sony decided to be a complete bitch and blackmail Raimi so that he would either put in Venom of have his movie canceled, he had to give in to their demands so he can continue with the film.
Overall, this movie, even though there is an overabundance of villians and some unfinished or rushed plot lines due to time constraints, this movie in my opinion turned out OK under those circumstances. 4 out of 10, it's bad but I like it anyways.
Despite all the struggles this movie went through, at least this film isn't NEARLY as bad as The Amazing Spider-Man 2, AKA the "Sony executive's checklist".
