Review of Spider-Man 3 (2007) by Abbas H — 05 May 2014
You can tell Sony studios interfered with the writing of the movie telling Sam Raimi to cram a bunch of stuff in resulting in this mess of a movie. The villains were very disappointing considering Harry/Green Goblin II gets 1 battle scene at the start, gets amnesia and helps Spiderman at the end. Venom was completely ruined by an actor not fit for the role and 30 minutes of screentime with very little development. Sandman was the best villain in the movie but the revelation that he was involved in Uncle Ben's death just made it felt shoehorned in. Peter and MJ who've had 3 movies worth of build up don't end up getting together or even breaking up for good; their story was just left unfinished. I would've preferred if Spiderman 3 was all about the Peter/Harry feud and I would've liked to see a fourth movie about Venom and the symbiote (without the emo Peter Parker dancing).
Awful way to end a trilogy.
