Review of Spider-Man 3 (2007) by Jake M — 19 Aug 2017

Spiderman 3 is a disappointment. I guess it was expected though because the second sequel usually fails. This movie does have good moments, but that doesn't change the fact that it has too many problems for me to call it a good movie. This is a bad movie. The biggest problem with this movie is there is too much going on. You can't have too many plotlines in a two hour movie. If you do that, nothing will have enough screentime and the plot will be overstuffed and rushed. This movie really needed to spend more time on Harry but they didn't because they also had to focus on Peter getting the black suit, Peter and Mj's romance problems, sandman, and venom. When Peter got the black suit it was fine at first, but when he started dancing in the streets and at jazz clubs, it was terrible. Peter and Mj's romance was terrible because it was just a bunch of misunderstandings that could easily be solved. I didn't like sandman because they made him Uncle Ben's killer which was a terrible idea. This got rid of all the guilt Peter had in the first two. Venom was rushed and squeezed into this movie.

Harry's plotline was the most disappointing in my opinion because the first two built everything up to this one and they did a really bad job ending his character. Harry got amnesia in this movie and it's obvious they did this because they had to take a break with him and focus on the other plotlines. The way they ended his character was really lazy.

This movie does have it's moments as I said. The action in this movie is really exciting. Overall this movie is just very poor and I wish it was a lot better.
