Spider-Man is the first one of the series, directed by Sam Raimi, and it stars Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, and Willem Dafoe in a superhero film about Peter Parker got bitten by a radioactive spider, gave him powers, and turned into a superhero.

A new villain has arise however when Norman Osborn put himself into the experiment, it was a failure, and it turned him into the Green Goblin. After watching the Evil Dead series, I felt the need to watch Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films, and with that Captain America: Civil War coming out in two months that has Spider-Man in it in, I feel like it's time for me to watch it from the first one, to the third that I'm not going to talk about until I review that film.

So anyway, I'll start with the first one, which is a great one if I may add here. I know some people might have a problem with the writing, which I can understand at some of the cheesy dialogue that is has, but for the most part, it's really fine as it is.

The acting is good, I do like Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, although I still think that Andrew Garfield was the best one so far. Kirsten Dunst is great as Mary Jane Watson, and James Franco is fitting as Harry Osborne.

With Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin, he's having a time of his life, being enjoyably over the top. The effects in the spider sense look really good, but for most of the time, it looked really dated and cartoonish in a way.

There are some funny moments, and the characters are pretty good. The chemistry however, is just very cheesy, but not there to the Star Wars prequels. The soundtrack by Danny Elfman is really good, especially with that theme song.

The action scenes are good, and Spider-Man's suit looks really good, even though Green Goblin's suit looks like something from a Power Rangers show. J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson is perfect casting, and is the best part of the film.

Spider-Man is a great start from the series that I'm looking forward to watching the sequel again.
