Review of Spider-Man (2002) by Conni B — 19 Jun 2014
Rating: B+.
This movie succeeds at being itself. It is surely not afraid to step out of the box a bit, and it follows the true Spiderman perfectly. I think that many people still believe that it is controversial whether or not Tobey Maguire was good for the role, but I think he did a great job. I did not think there was enough build-up storyline for Green Goblin, though. His costume was a bit of a flaw, but only a minor one. For a 2002 superhero movie, the special effects were pretty top notch. The one thing about this film is that you believe that you are there and you have a ton of fun watching all of the things that go on.
