Review of Spider-Man (2002) by Stephen D — 09 Feb 2015
Spider-Man is my favorite superhero, and this movie reminds me why. This movie really kick-started the trend of Marvel movies and it is one of the most memorable experiences I've had at the movies.
First off, the cast of this movie did a terrific job. Tobey Maguire really made everyone believe he was Spider-Man and his performance is one of the most talked about in the early 2000s. Willem Dafoe is perfect for the role of Green Goblin and he gives off the same vibe that the Goblin from the comics gives. Kristen Dunst wouldn't have been my first choice to play Mary Jane (as I previously only knew her from Jumanji), but she fits the role like a glove and she definitely is smoking hot, as Mary Jane should be. James Franco plays Harry Osborn well, and he hits the nail on the head with Harry's relationship with his father.
The evolution on how Peter became Spider-Man was well done, and they did a great job displa.
